Poker is a very famous card game and with the expansion of the virtual world, players are more and more turned towards online games. In reality, online poker is not much different from face-to-face poker; however, it is important to master the workings in order to adapt to the dedicated sites. Discover below all the rules that guide online poker games.
The value of hands
In poker, the hands are combinations of 5 cards that the players make up, the goal being to have the most powerful. They are defined according to the rules and constitute the basis to be mastered in order to become an expert in this game.
The Royal Flush
The Royal Flush is the most powerful combination in the game of poker, whoever has it automatically wins the game. It is made up of a king, a queen, an ace, a jack and a 10, all having the same suit.
The Straight Flush
This is the most valuable combination after the Royal Flush. It is made up of 5 consecutive cards of the same suit.
The square
This third hand is made up of four cards of identical values (but not necessarily of the same suit) plus another card.
Full
After the square comes the Full consisting of 3 cards of identical values, plus 2 other cards also of identical values.
The colour
As its name suggests, it is a combination of cards of the same color, but not necessarily of the same value.
The fifth
Also called Suite, it is formed when 5 consecutive cards but of different suits are combined.
The Three of a Kind
We speak of Brelan when we have three cards of the same value and two other cards of any kind.
The Double Pair
The Double Pair hand, as its name suggests, consists of 4 identical cards two by two in value, then another card.
The pair
The pair consists of 2 cards of identical value, then 3 other cards.
Online game play
Online poker compared to live poker only differs in a few points. Indeed, the game table is made up of virtual opponents and it is the machine that plays the role of croupier. Games are played clockwise from the dealer’s left.
game rounds
Before the cards are dealt, the first player to the left of the dealer posts his bet (small blind), then the next player bets double or more (big blind). The dealer sets a card aside (burns a card), then deals one, then another face down to each player such that each has two cards.
Bidding then begins and players have the choice of checking, betting, folding, calling the bet or raising it. The dealer then burns another card and places 3 more face up on the table, which initiates the second round of betting. Then the game continues like this until the 5 visible cards are placed.
The winner at the end of the game is the one who has the highest combination of cards or who has not folded during the game.
